Lynne St. James does it again. A thrilling story about a wounded warrior and his strong stubborn wife. Lily loves Alex with all her heart and soul but cannot find a way to reach him and make him believe that their life together is worth living for. Alex is convinced that Lily would be better off without him. Hunter, his service dog seems to calm him down and center him in ways Lilly can't. Throw in a few more alpha males and their tough as nails women and you get the perfect mix of love, action, suspense and a HEA. I love that military characters and realistic portrayals of what happens when they come home and try to reenter everyday life play a major role in each story. Overcoming obstacles with the help of loved ones and seeing that there can be a rewarding/fulfilling life after military service always makes my heart sing and feeds my soul. From the first page to the very last word it was a great read. Lynne St. James out did herself this time. Alex and Lilly will steal your heart and make you cry. The characters and story are fall in love worthy. I would highly recommend this book!
Just finished the third book in the Beyond Valor series and I want more. Nice to know they will be available soon.
I would recommend this book to anyone who likes a mystery with romance combined. When I started this book, it was late in the evening and I didn't want to stop until I had finished it. I did have to sleep but as soon as I was up the next day I delayed everything until I had finished it. Being retired has it's benefits. If you are working start on a off day when you have time to read.
I found this story to be very good! The story was very vivid along with great dialogue. Alex and Lily are a married couple that have to get through Alex's tragic injury while both have emotional trauma to deal with. Lily is stronger than either her husband or she thinks. Lily has so much to do to keep them together, including taking on a company she is hired to do some work for. Suddenly Lily is in danger and being threatened. Alex asks his teammates for help before it may be too late. The story is suspenseful with mystery and romance. I highly recommend this book.
Alex, Lily's husband, had been hurt in a bombing in Afghanistan. It left him in a wheelchair, with terrible pain and a worse attitude. But with friends help, Logan and Tag, they got him a service dog named Hunter.
Lily's business was taking off and who newest client was a fitness center, but something seemed to be off and there was that douchbag that threatened her.
Read A Soldier's Triump to learn how this book fits together. And while Paws for Hope maybe fictitious there are several worthwhile organizations that do work with service dogs for vets, children of abuse, autistic people, and others.
